Join Dr. Angela Rose Black for this unique 2.5-hour psychoeducational workshop that represents Level 1: Part 1 of her Mind-Body Racial ResilienceTM (MBRR) training. Designed for People of Color by People of Color, MBRR locates compassionate ways to engage Racial Battle Fatigue: the psychic and physical responses experienced by PoCs navigating a society marked by conditions of mundane and extreme race-related stress.
Using Mindfulness for the People’s Foundational PracticeTM, participants will increase their self-awareness of Racial Battle Fatigue and practice evidence-based mind-body techniques that support Racial Resilience. This session will also include a 30-min Yin style yoga practice.
The theme for Level 1: Part 1 is "emotional wisdom and racial resilience": how to locate and understand where/why race-related stress shows up in our bodies.
